Chickasaw Village Site

Chickasaw Village Site at Milepost 261.8 along the Natchez Trace Parkway in Mississippi marks the location of a historic Chickasaw settlement that once existed in the region. The site is interpreted with markers and a short loop trail that guide visitors through the landscape where the village stood, offering insights into Chickasaw culture and lifeways prior to and during early contact periods. Named for the Chickasaw people, the area reflects their long connection to the land long before the Parkway was built. A Chickasaw Heritage Center is being built near the site to expand educational and cultural resources related to the site’s history.
