Stanton Hall

Stanton Hall is a historic mansion in Natchez, Mississippi, and one of the city’s most prominent antebellum homes. Completed in 1857 for cotton magnate Frederick Stanton, the house exemplifies Greek Revival architecture with its monumental Corinthian columns, symmetrical proportions, and richly detailed plasterwork. Stanton Hall’s grand interiors feature richly decorated parlors, a formal ballroom, ornate marble fireplaces, and a broad central staircase reflecting the elegance of antebellum Natchez.

After the Civil War, the property passed through several owners before being purchased in the early twentieth century by the Stanton family’s descendants, who later donated it for preservation. Today, it operates as a house museum, offering guided tours that interpret the lifestyle, design, and social history of the pre-Civil-War South while preserving its architectural splendor for future generations.
