Glenfield Plantation

Glenfield is a historic plantation house in Natchez, Mississippi, situated on a 150-acre tract originally granted by the British Crown in 1774. The one-story residence was constructed in two distinct phases: an earlier section built in 1817 during the period of Spanish control over the region, and a later addition completed in 1845 in the English Gothic style. Glenfield is the only full English Gothic private residence in Natchez and one of only a handful of examples of the style in Mississippi.

Originally known as Glencannon, the property was a prosperous cotton plantation owned by the Cannon family prior to the American Civil War. In 1880, descendants of the Cannons sold the estate to Osborne King Field, who renamed it Glenfield. The house remains privately owned by descendants of the Field family. Its largely unaltered interior features period antiques and family heirlooms, along with a bullet hole in the original front door said to date from the Civil War.

The home currently operates as a bed-and-breakfast inn.
