Soul City Swingers Concert

The Levitt AMP Downtown Jackson Music Series and the Mississippi Humanities Council presents the Soul City Swingers, a funky organ and horn quartet with an emphasis on funk and soul, hailing from the “The City with Soul” herself. Comprised of four fellows, Denny Burkes on drums, Tyler Kemp on organ, Terry Miller on trumpet, and Judson Wright on saxophone, these men steep themselves in the art of auditory engagement. Armed with a forthcoming album’s worth of original tunes, it’s a blended sense of familiarity that honors the funky soul classics of the past, with a modern twist.
