Windsor Ruins

Windsor Ruins, located in Claiborne County, Mississippi, are the remains of the largest antebellum Greek Revival mansion in the state, destroyed by fire in 1890. The ruins include 23 standing Corinthian columns and 5 partial columns, situated on a 2.1-acre site listed on the National Register of Historic Places and designated a Mississippi Landmark. The mansion was constructed between 1859 and 1861 and was used as an observation platform and hospital during the Civil War. Today, the site is administered by the Mississippi Department of Archives and History and is a popular historical attraction.
